Guy began his TV career in Sacramento, first at KOVR Channel 13 as a production assistant on the morning show, and then at News10 where he was an associate producer on the health show "Pulse" and a production assistant on the evening news.

Guy’s love of movies started during his childhood while watching classic Hollywood films on local LA television stations. It also helped that his grandfather, Harold Chapman, was also in the entertainment business. For 30 years Chapman held the title of recording supervisor for Columbia Records in New York City and Hollywood. He worked with all of the music industry greats, including Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Doris Day, Judy Garland, and his personal favorite, Rosemary Clooney.
