Meet
Guy Farris, host of Sacramento & Co. Guy is an Emmy
award-winning entertainment anchor who has returned to Sacramento and
News10 by way of Las Vegas. While working at Gold 33 News at Seven and
the WB Las Vegas, Guy's entertainment reports and celebrity interviews
were seen nationwide on Sinclair Broadcasting's 40+ stations.. Born
and raised in Los Angeles, Guy also worked in Seattle where he was
part of the NorthWest Cable News morning show anchor team. While
there, Guy reported the latest entertainment news and traveled to
Hollywood and beyond to interview some of the movie industry’s biggest
stars including Jennifer Lopez, Will Smith, Sandra Bullock and Hugh
Grant. Guy’s irreverent and off-the-cuff style has earned him numerous
Emmy nominations, culminating in a win for Best Entertainment Anchor
in 2002. He has also been honored as Seattle Magazine’s “It Anchor.”
Guy began his TV career in Sacramento, first at KOVR Channel 13 as a
production assistant on the morning show, and then at News10 where he
was an associate producer on the health show "Pulse" and a production
assistant on the evening news.
Guy’s love of movies started during his childhood while watching
classic Hollywood films on local LA television stations. Ask him what
his favorite movies are and he’ll most likely tell you “To Kill a
Mockingbird,” “The Ghost and Mrs. Muir” and “Vertigo.” He’s seen
practically every movie ever made during the Golden Age and can tell
you almost anything about even the most obscure classic film. It also
helped that his grandfather, Harold Chapman, was also in the
entertainment business. For 30 years Chapman held the title of
recording supervisor for Columbia Records in New York City and
Hollywood. He worked with all of the music industry greats, including
Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Tony Bennett, Doris Day, Judy
Garland, and his personal favorite, Rosemary Clooney. |
