ORLAND, CA - U.S. Marshals announce they captured a wanted child predator suspect Monday.
Deputy U.S. Marshal Frank Newsom said an arrest warrant was issued for 44-year-old Pascual DeJesus of Orland in February, 2011, for allegedly committing lewd and sexual acts with a minor under the age of 14. DeJesus reportedly fled the country for Mexico the month before the warrant was issued.
Monday, deputy U.S. Marshals and Sacramento Division fugitive task force members were at an apartment on Newport Avenue in Orland to interview DeJesus' relatives when a cargo van pulled onto the street. Officers believed the two people inside were DeJesus and his wife. The man was detained and family identified him as DeJesus.
DeJesus was booked into Tehama County Jail.
