STOCKTON, CA - A 28-year-old man is in the hospital after being shot by a would-be robber in Stockton Thursday morning.
According to a Stockton police report, the shooting victim had driven to the 9500 block of Kelley Drive around 2:12 a.m. to meet with a woman named Coco. When he arrived at her location, he parked and waited for her to come outside. At that time, a man confronted and tried to rob him at gunpoint.
Fearing for his life, the man drove off and was shot while fleeing, according to police.
The man drove home and called police to report the incident.
He was treated at a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
The suspected shooter was described as a man of unknown race, wearing all black.
