Man shot, killed in North Sacramento neighborhood

SACRAMENTO, CA - A man is dead after a shooting in the Strawberry Manor neighborhood in North Sacramento Saturday night.

Sacramento police responded to the 100 block of Scoles Court around 11:23 p.m. to reports of a person being shot, Sacramento police Officer Michele Gigante said.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found 27-year-old Jeremiah Youmans dead in the driveway of a residence with gunshot wound to the upper body.

The people living in the residence said they did not know Youmans.

Witnesses reported seeing two subjects leaving the area in a dark colored vehicle. A neighbor called the incident a drive-by shooting.

Gigante said detectives are investigating what lead up to the shooting and the motive.
