The Leaders and Achievers® Scholarship Program is one of the Comcast Foundation's signature community investment programs and they joined us in the studio today to tell us more about the graduation class of 2012.

With $200,000 and 25 laptop computers being givenaway by Comcast, this has become a way for students and families of our area to get a head start at college and offset some of the costs.

Walter Hughes, Director of Government Affairs for Comcast California, told us about the inspiration that these high school seniors find to become Leaders & Achievers® and become engaged in their community.

The Comcast Leaders and Achievers® Scholarship Program recognizes high school seniors for their leadership skills, positive attitude, academic achievement and various community service activities.  Since its inception in 2001, the program has awarded more than $17 million in college aid to more than 17,000 high school seniors.
