A love of reading is a gift that any adult or caregiver can pass on to a child and is a gift that will last a lifetime. Children who have a reading deficit by the third grade can have difficult time in all areas of learning as they continue in school. To help avoid this issue, Sacramento Reads has launched Literacy by 3rd grade Campaign that encourages parent, caregivers and those in the community to help promote literacy by reading to kids.
On August 24, Sacramento Reads is hosting a Celebration of Literacy Fair at Fairytale Town in Sacramento. Families can enjoy a fun evening out while supporting literacy. Symia Stigler, Deputy Director with Sacramento Reads shares more about this free event with host Mellisa Paul.
